When asked about how he would describe The Terraformers, director Wallop Doorfat had this to say:
"Well it's a comedy, obviously. We all know that terraforming - making planets and moons more Earthlike - is a dangerous job. It's all done with machines of course, but someone still has to operate those machines. Someone still has to go in and fix things when they go wrong. So, I thought there was a lot of comedy potential in that concept."
